Roma to release Cicinho?

Unconfirmed reports are suggesting that Cicinho may rescind his Roma contract to facilitate a January transfer.

The Brazilian has rarely featured for boss Luis Enrique this season and his Giallorossi deal is set to expire in June 2012.

According to whispers, the attacking right-back would like to be released from his agreement six months in advance.

Cicinho, signed from Real Madrid in August 2007 for around €11m, has appeared in just two Serie A games this term for a total of 95 minutes.

The 31-year-old has had his struggles in the Italian capital and he’s been sent out on loan to Sao Paulo and Villarreal during his time as a Giallorosso.

If Roma release the South American then he would be able to join a new club for no transfer fee – and the capital side would be able to save on his wages.
