Delio Rossi feels Fiorentina “lost the midfield” during their spectacular 2-2 draw with Atalanta.
They had been leading for much of the game, but in the final stages went 2-1 down before Stevan Jovetic’s last-gasp equaliser.
“In the second half we lost the midfield. We couldn’t close Atalanta down and were pegged back,” confessed the Coach.
“We could’ve finished them off by going 2-0 up with Valon Behrami, but then the mistakes made things more complicated for us.”
Atalanta were furious with the referee after the final whistle, claiming Lorenzo De Silvestri handled to set up the final goal.
“I tend not to comment on the referee. It was a tough and intense game. If we look at the incidents, then Atalanta scored when one of our players was off the field and the penalty they wanted came after play had already been halted.”
