Cagliari have confirmed that Davide Biondini will leave the club when his contract expires in June 2012.
“He’s decided to not renew his agreement,” Cagliari President Massimo Cellino has commented. “It’s a mutual decision.
“He’ll end the season with us where he will continue to help the youngsters in the squad to grow and mature.”
Biondini, one goal in 14 Serie A appearances this season, joined the Stadio Sant’Elia outfit in the summer of 2006 after a campaign at Reggina.
The midfielder has also played for Cesena and Vicenza during his career.
According to a report in the Secolo XIX newspaper, Genoa have already made steps to sign the Longiano-born player in the summer on a Bosman deal.
Biondini has won two Italian caps while impressing for Cagliari.
