Conte: ‘Juve beyond expectations’

Antonio Conte insists the praise for Juventus’ strong start to the season belongs to his players for their availability for and application of his plans.

La Vecchia Signora is currently top of the table and undefeated from the opening 15 weeks of action. With one round of action left before the winter break, the 42-year-old tactician took time to reflect on the positive start to his reign in Turin

“So far, Juve have gone beyond all expectations, each more beautiful than any of my expectations and more beautiful in thought.

“The players are doing something extraordinary, even if we have also not done anything yet. Only in May will everything be taken into account and be when it matters where we are in the table.

“After 15 rounds the numbers are important. It has been possible thanks to the availability of the guys who have embraced my idea of football, a lot of credit goes to them.”

The Bianconeri are looking to become the first side this season to take points off of Udinese at the Stadio Friuli, after the Zebrette's seven consecutive home wins to begin the League campaign with.

“They can be considered a revelation, after last year to come to contend with Milan for the Scudetto. We have great respect for them, but we will not go there to draw, it is not a part of our mentality.”
