Serse Cosmi can’t help but feel regret after Lecce threw away a lead against Inter. “We wasted too much.”
The Salentini were not expected to get a result at San Siro, but believed after going 1-0 up through Luis Muriel. However, they eventually succumbed 4-1.
“In the first half, despite holding them to a draw, we played pretty badly. After the break we actually played better, even though Inter got their goals,” said Cosmi.
“In the opening 45 minutes we created nothing other than the goal, while in the second we had several chances to get back into it or even equalise.
“Unfortunately, we weren’t sharp enough and allowed too much space to a talented side in good shape.
“We are missing too many players at the moment. Our fourth choice goalkeeper had to start today and we were without numerous defenders. We’ve got to improve in every area.”
