Italian outfit Roma will probably miss out on signing Nilmar from Villarreal, his representative has suggested.
The Brazilian striker is again being paired with the Italian club after initial links emerged before the start of the 2011-12 campaign.
“The boy has received an offer from Roma,” agent Orlando Da Hora told Globesporte when asked about his client.
“Villarreal, however, don’t want to let the player go until his current contract comes to an end.”
The 27-year-old joined the Liga outfit in 2009 after two years with Internacional. He’s also appeared for Lyon and Corinthians.
His contract expires in June 2014.
Roma may be looking for a new attacking option given that Marco Borriello is expected to leave for Juventus by the close of the January transfer window.
