Udinese go for Gelson Fernandes

It’s reported Udinese have agreed a deal for ex-Chievo midfielder Gelson Fernandes to arrive in January.

The Friulani need reinforcements for the middle of the park, as Kwadwo Asamoah, Thierry Doubai and Emmanuel Badu are set for the African Cup of Nations.

According to Sky Sport Italia, they have secured the signature of Swiss midfielder Gelson Fernandes on loan with an option to buy from Saint-Etienne.

He is already undergoing a medical and the 25-year-old is expected to complete the transfer on Monday.

Gelson Fernandes already has some experience in Serie A on loan with Chievo in 2010-11, then moved on to Leicester City.
