Guidolin keeps Friulani focused

Francesco Guidolin urges Udinese to ignore both the past and the future. “I am concentrated only on the next game.”

The Friulani have become unlikely Scudetto contenders after ending 2011 in third place, just two points off joint Serie A leaders Milan and Juventus.

“I am concentrated only on the next game against Cesena,” said the Coach. “What counts is what we will do, not what we have done.

“I can already feel the tension rising, because we are returning to work after the winter break, which was above all necessary for the South American players. The start of 2012 provides us with some big question marks and we have only got to concentrate on what’s happening now.”

Meanwhile, today Udinese officially announced they had signed left-back Jean-Alain Fanchone on a five-year contract.

The 23-year-old defender had been on a trial with the club since mid-November.

In other transfer news, Bologna have officially signed full-back Matteo Rubin from Torino on loan with an option to buy half his contract.
