The possibility of Enzo Maresca leaving Malaga for Sampdoria this month has been dismissed by his agent.
The Serie B giants have been paired with the Italian midfielder, but no move is on the horizon for the now 31-year-old.
“There really is nothing in this at all,” representative Candido Fortunato is quoted as saying. “They are just rumours.
“The boy doesn’t want to return to Italy and, for the moment, he will stay in Spain with Malaga.”
The former West Brom and Juventus player moved to his present club last year after a spell in Greece with Olympiacos.
A former Italian Under-21 international, he’s also played for Bologna, Piacenza, Fiorentina and Sevilla in his career.
