Roberto Donadoni gave credit to predecessor Franco Colomba after Parma won comfortably on his debut.
The Coach was drafted in on Monday to replace Colomba and had the perfect start, beating Siena 3-1 in a relegation dogfight.
“Colomba left me a squad with great promise and he should be given credit for that,” said Donadoni.
“This victory feels like it is worth double, as it came against a Siena side that was able to crush Lazio 4-0 only a week ago.
“It is excessive to say I changed the character and tactics of the team, looking only at today’s match. If this level can be confirmed over at least two or three months, then we can consider them differently.
“The Parma project gave me positive feelings, so I chose to take the job after turning down several others because I think I can do well here.”
