Stefano Colantuono has no problems admitting “Juventus clearly deserved the victory,” even with the penalties Atalanta were denied.
The Bergamo club was beaten 2-0 on home turf this evening, their third consecutive Serie A defeat.
“There’s nothing we can say, as Juve clearly deserved the victory. We had studied the move for the first goal this morning, so it’s a shame that we still conceded anyway.
“Juve are physically strong and, once they have broken the deadlock, they do kill you off. There is too much of a gap between our teams at the moment.
“Our position in the table is still good and it was only to be expected we’d struggle when facing Milan, Lazio and Juventus in a row. We may not be in great shape, but the Bianconeri are stronger and I cannot ask for more from my players.”
Atalanta also had recriminations, as German Denis twice appeared to be hauled to the ground by Giorgio Chiellini.
“I don’t know, it’s tough in these situations because some referees give the penalty and some don’t. It’s certainly not the reason we lost, though, so let us not grasp at excuses. Juve deserved the three points.”
