Keisuke Honda expressed his frustration at the collapsed transfer to Lazio. “I hoped to the end that I’d arrive in Serie A.”
The negotiations dragged on for weeks with CSKA Moscow and appeared to reach a deal worth €14m, but the move fell apart on deadline day.
“I was waiting for a better future during this transfer session and hoped to the end that I’d arrive in Serie A,” he told the Japanese media.
“I now have only CSKA in my mind, but my contract is set to expire and I am honoured that my name has been linked with the likes of PSG or Manchester City.
“My objectives have not changed and I have no intention of changing them.”
