Fiorentina midfielder Valon Behrami reveals why his January switch to Juventus didn’t go through. “It would’ve been a betrayal.”
The Swiss international had been heavily linked with a move to Turin up until the last minutes of the transfer window.
“Going to Juventus would’ve been a betrayal. The President and director of sport know full well what my intentions were,” he told Corriere Fiorentino.
There is a bitter rivalry between Juve and Fiorentina, which saw rioting in the streets when Roberto Baggio made that transfer in 1990.
“I have found the right club for me in Florence. I wrote it on Twitter and confirm it here: I will stay in this city for a long time.”
