Lazio welcome back Miroslav Klose as they travel to face birthday boy Rodrigo Palacio’s Genoa in the lunchtime kick-off.
The 11.30am UK time start is going ahead as planned despite the Biancocelesti’s appeals to have the match postponed.
Snow has stopped in Genoa and there is sunshine over the Stadio Luigi Ferraris and sub-zero temperatures, but Lazio’s journey from Rome on Saturday took seven hours due to the Siberian weather front that has hit the Capital.
Hernanes was named in the starting XI, but picked up an injury in the warm-up and was replaced by Tommaso Rocchi for a change of tactics.
Klose is back in the starting XI after missing the midweek 2-0 win over Milan with a thigh problem, although Lazio are still without Cristian Brocchi, Libor Kozak, Emiliano Alfaro, Lorik Cana, Stefano Mauri and now also Andre Dias.
Stefan Radu is a late addition to the injury list, while Giuseppe Biava is sent to the bench in favour of Mobido Diakite and Marius Stankevicius. Javier Garrido unusually takes the left-back role.
Genoa miss Emiliano Moretti, Marco Rossi, Miguel Veloso, Luca Antonelli and Cesare Bovo, so Kevin Constant is a makeshift full-back.
Palacio, who turns 30 today, partners Alberto Gilardino with support from ex-Lazio man Giuseppe Sculli.
