Cannavaro wanted win in Milan

Napoli captain Paolo Cannavaro wasn’t totally happy with the point gained at Milan on Sunday afternoon.

The Azzurri collected a 0-0 draw, but the central defender thinks his side missed an opportunity to net all three points on offer.

“We could have won,” the stopper told the Corriere dello Sport on Monday morning.

“It’s true that Milan had the strength to resist when they were down to 10 men and it is true that they know how to defend when they are a man down.

“However, this game could have been the turning point of our Serie A season,” he claimed. “It’s a real shame.

“We are finding some difficulties in the championship, but there is still time to recover and charge back up the table.”

Napoli, who finished third last season, are currently seventh – 10 points behind the Champions League zone and 14 shy of leaders Juventus.

The Azzurri are still in the Champions League and will play Chelsea in the last 16.
