Fabrizio Miccoli has revealed the secret behind his resurgence in form at Serie A club Palermo.
The 32-year-old was again on the score-sheet at the weekend as the Rosanero beat Atalanta 2-1 in Sicily.
“I’m in good shape and able to train regularly, something which I’ve not been able to do for some time,” the forward told Sky Sport Italia.
“I hope to keep up this pace for as long as possible.”
The former Juventus player became the club’s all-time top scorer last midweek thanks to a hat-trick at Inter in the 4-4 draw.
“I dedicate that achievement to all of the fans and my teammates,” continued the pint-sized attacker.
Miccoli, scorer of 10 goals in 18 Serie A games this term, was also asked about his future as his contract expires in 2013.
“After five years here, I hope to continue being a part of this project,” he continued. “I don’t want to leave at the most beautiful moment…”
Meanwhile, the player’s agent has admitted that he isn’t shocked with the kind of form his client is producing.
“I’m no longer surprised by what Fabrizio does,” representative Francesco Caliandro told TMW. “He’s doing excellently, but the whole side is performing too.”
Miccoli, capped by Italy, joined the Sicilian giants in 2007 after two seasons in Portugal with Benfica.
