Bayern Munich could be the summer destination of Inter defender Cristian Chivu, according to rumours.
The Bundesliga giants are looking to replace Daniel Van Buyten and the Romanian is on the club’s shortlist.
Chivu is an attractive proposition to a host of Europe’s top clubs given that he could be available on a free transfer.
The player’s contract expires at the end of the season and the San Siro giants have yet to open extension talks.
Chivu, 31, is a versatile defender who can play as a centre-back – his preferred position – or as a left-back.
He joined Inter in 2007 after spells at Roma and Ajax.
