Parma’s Italian international Sebastian Giovinco has been compared to the legendary Gianfranco Zola by Roberto Donadoni.
The 25-year-old is carving out a reputation for himself at the Tardini with nine goals in 19 League games so far this season.
Now a regular in the Italian national squad, Parma boss Donadoni expects the pint-sized attacker to go far.
“He’s ready, really ready, for a big club,” the tactician told the Gazzetta dello Sport on Tuesday. “He reminds me of Zola and I hope that he has the same career as Gianfranco.”
Former West Ham boss Zola first caught the eye at Napoli, before spells at Parma, Chelsea and Cagliari.
Giovinco’s future is unclear given that he is presently co-owned by both Parma and Juventus. He spent last season on loan with the Gialloblu before they bought a 50 per cent share of him for €3.5m.
