Leandro Greco will sign a new contract at Roma within the next 10 days, it is being reported.
The Italian, whose previous deal was set to expire in June, will net himself a substantial salary increase after committing himself to his hometown team until 2015.
The midfielder, who was earning €175,000 a season, will now net at least €700,000 a term. That figure will increase if certain bonus conditions are met.
Greco, 25, has made 12 Serie A appearances for the Giallorossi under boss Luis Enrique so far this term.
The player – born in Rome – and his entourage will meet with sporting director Walter Sabatini at some stage next week to put pen to paper.
Greco will follow in the footsteps of teammate Daniele De Rossi who has also rejected the option of a Bosman free transfer to stay with the capital club.
