Christian Panucci expects Fabio Capello to return to the game following his resignation as England boss.
The former defender is a loyal servant of the tactician, 65, given that he worked with him during spells at Milan, Real Madrid and then Roma.
“I don’t know what Capello will do in the future,” the 38-year-old told Sky Sport Italia. “However, there are many great teams who are waiting for a Coach like him.
“I think he will wait to be offered a project whose objective is something important – that is what he needs.”
The former Juventus boss quit as England manager last night after the English FA stripped John Terry of the captaincy.
“He left because the armband was taken off Terry, it wasn’t an excuse,” continued the ex-Chelsea stopper.
“There was no longer the same alchemy between the FA and Capello that there was some time ago.
“I think he’ll probably now be replaced by an Englishman, but the choice made by Capello underlines his loyalty.”
Capello is being linked with a coaching role at Inter for next season, as well as Russian giants Anzhi. There are also whispers that he could become a director at Juventus.
