Inter 'had no faith in Gasp'

Gian Piero Gasperini’s assistant manager at Inter reveals the club “had no real faith” in the sacked Coach and are tactically inept.

The interview with Ivan Juric came as the Nerazzurri prepare to face Novara, whose 3-1 victory prompted Gasp’s dismissal back in September.

“It was a horrible defeat, but if a Coach who for years has done well suddenly gets sacked after only five games, then it means the club had no real faith in him from the start,” Juric told Radio Sportiva.

“The rapport with the players was good and they worked hard to change their style of play, but unfortunately we weren’t given the time.”

Inter brought in Claudio Ranieri, but results have been shaky recently with a 4-4 draw against Palermo and 4-0 hammering to Roma.

“The Nerazzurri have the strongest overall squad along with Milan. We wanted to introduce an attacking style of play that involved taking the initiative and not just based on the counter.

“I don’t know what problems they’ve got now. I only know the players have great talent and character. Inter will beat Novara, but the problem of their style of play remains, as you never know what will happen.”
