However, the attacking midfielder has seen a specialist who has ruled out any serious problem. The player will thus resume training tomorrow.
The 22-year-old is back to his best this term after missing all of the 2010-11 campaign following knee ligament surgery.
So far this season he has scored 12 goals in 17 League games for the Viola.
Fiorentina, whose game against Parma at the weekend was postponed, will face the Azzurri at the Stadio Franchi on Friday evening.
