Marquinho eyes permanent deal

Loan signing Marquinho is determined to prove his worth and earn a permanent transfer to Roma by the end of the season.

The versatile Brazilian, who was the Giallorossi’s only signing of the January transfer market, was presented to the media today.

“I have played as an central midfielder, at left-back and as a forward,” the Fluminense-owned player said.

“To be ready I may need a few days, but already I could be available for Parma, should the Coach decide.

“I do not think that I will have trouble adjusting here in Rome. I arrive at 25 years of age, with a wealth of experience.

“Will these 15 games convince Roma to sign me outright? Games will not be the only deciding factor, but overall how I am seen by the Coach and the directors.”

One of those, sporting director Walter Sabatini, was at his unveiling and took time to also talk of the move.

“We kept him a secret and although he has been received to great fanfare, we are very confident about the fact that he can give us a hand.

“He is a strong player, a versatile midfielder with features that we don’t otherwise have in the squad.”
