Giuseppe Sannino insists there is no more pressure on Siena than usual, as they go from beating Roma to Sunday’s relegation scrap with Lecce.
“It is like all head-to-head battles, one where we must suffer and work harder than ever,” said the Coach.
Only one place separates the two sides going into the Sunday 11.30am UK time kick-off at the Stadio Via del Mare.
“Lecce are a good team, with experience and have a great tactician. They want to achieve something extraordinary by securing their safety after a spectacular comeback. We must not allow ourselves to be taken by surprise.
“The most important aspect is psychological. We need to face this match with the right mentality: concentration, of course, but at the same time a relaxed approach without the pressure to get a result at all costs.”
It’s going to be a busy time for Siena, as they also play the snowed off fixture with Catania next week.
“We will play three games in seven days, so I cannot help but take that into consideration when making my choices,” concluded Sannino.
“Whoever does step on to the field will give their best, as always.”
