Thiago Silva is surprised by the reports suggesting that Milan teammate Ronaldinho is heading for a January exit.
The Brazilian fantasista's future is in doubt after failing to break into the first team plans of boss Massimiliano Allegri this term.
A host of Brazilian outfits have been paired with a New Year switch for the player who only has six months left on his San Siro deal.
However, Thiago Silva expects his South American colleague to remain at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.
"I know him," he stated. "He wants to remain here with us because he wants to play for us. You'll soon see him return to his highest levels."
Another aspect which has cast further doubt over Ronaldinho's future is the imminent arrival of Italy international Antonio Cassano.
"If he arrives then we would have signed a really strong player," the defender added. "He's an experienced player too and he could do very well for us."
Cassano is expected to arrive from Sampdoria after his falling out with Doria chief Riccardo Garrone.
