Zenga available for Inter

Walter Zenga is emerging as an alternative to Leonardo as the race to become the next Inter boss takes an unexpected twist.

The Italian champions are looking for a new tactician after Rafael Benitez left the San Siro outfit yesterday.

Brazilian Leonardo, who spent last term bossing city rivals Milan, was widely considered to be the favourite to take over.

However, Zenga has now been sacked by Al-Nassr which would make him available should his former club make the call.

Zenga is an Inter legend after spending most of his career in Nerazzurro and he was part of the mythical 1989 side which won the Scudetto.

He's often spoken of his desire to take charge of Inter after his two previous coaching spells in Serie A.

Zenga impressed at Catania, saving them from relegation, before an unhappy and brief stint with Sicilian rivals Palermo.

Meanwhile, Leonardo isn't giving much away after being asked to comment on the links with Internazionale.

"All I can say is Happy Christmas," he told the Italian media. "I know nothing, I know less than you do…"
