Genoa striker Alberto Gilardino is unlikely to feature against former club Parma this weekend.
The Italian international was hoping to prove his fitness after recently suffering a thigh strain with the Grifone.
According to Il Secolo XIX, tests have shown an improvement in his condition, but not enough to see him named in the squad.
Gilardino should now return to action in the game against Lecce next week.
The 29-year-old joined the Rossoblu in January from Fiorentina and has scored one goal in five appearances since.
