Edy Reja will hold crunch talks with Lazio on Friday in a meeting which will decide whether he remains as Coach in the capital.
The tactician handed in his resignation on Wednesday, but agreed to take charge of the side for last night’s Europa League loss at Atletico Madrid.
“When someone offers their resignation then they do so because they are convinced that is the right decision,” the former Napoli tactician noted.
“I have sent a letter to the club and I am now waiting for them to respond. I’ll talk to President Claudio Lotito and then we’ll see.
“However, you can never rule out that things could change and different scenarios may open. We’ll have to see what the intentions of the club are.”
A host of tacticians are being linked with Reja’s job, but Lazio sporting director Igli Tare hasn’t ruled out a Reja U-turn.
“I think he could stay,” stated the Albanian. “All this talk about different Coaches coming in is just speculation.
“There will now be a meeting with Reja and I don’t think it will be a tense one.”
