Ledesma vital for winning Lazio

Cristian Ledesma has turned Lazio into the force they are today, insists the Argentine playmaker's agent.

The capital outfit are the surprise leaders after nine rounds of the season, four points clear of second-placed Inter.

And Vincenzo D'Ippolito insists that the club's transformation is down to the reintegration of the classy midfielder.

"His presence calms the whole team down," the representative noted. "He is an indispensable player for Lazio.

"That is underlined by the fact that Lazio have started to collect results since he was brought back into the set-up."

Lazio and Ledesma had a massive falling out last season when the former Lecce player was frozen out of the set-up as a result of a contract dispute.

But after Ledesma unsuccessfully tried to get his contract terminated, he has re-signed and been instrumental.

Lazio won 1-0 at Palermo on Sunday and face capital rivals Roma in the stand-out tie of Week 10 next Sunday.
