A meeting between Milan and Ronaldinho's agent is set for today “while negotiations with Gremio continue,” said Roberto De Assis.
It is now well known that the Brazilian is heading home to his former club Gremio during the January transfer window.
A benchwarmer at San Siro with only six months left on his contract, he is set to terminate the deal by mutual consent.
“I will meet with Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani in Rio de Janeiro on Monday,” agent and Ronaldinho's brother Roberto De Assis told Sky Sport Italia.
Gremio have said for several days that an agreement has already been reached with the player and jumped the gun slightly when putting his picture on their official website with the headline: ‘He's ours!' It was taken down after a few minutes.
“Ronaldinho will return here, but not for money,” President Paulo Odone told Radio Globo.
“Negotiations are at an advanced stage and the four-year contract is ready. His objective is to play in his city so he can take part in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
“He was enthusiastic about our offer. It is also a marketing deal and we must get together many partners to keep our promises.”
