Agent blasts Cannavaro-Italy snub

The agent of Paolo Cannavaro is unhappy with Italy boss Cesare Prandelli after the Napoli defender was again overlooked.

“If people like Leonardo Bonucci, Andrea Barzagli and Alessandro Gamberini are in the Giro Azzurro then Paolo deserves the Italy shirt too,” Gaetano Fedele told Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.

“I think it is shocking when you consider the player’s human and footballing qualities. He’s someone who can handle the pressure.”

Prandelli’s centre-back options for Wednesday’s friendly against America are Juventus’ Bonucci, Barzagli and Giorgio Chiellini, plus Torino’s Angelo Ogbonna and Cagliari’s Davide Astori.

The Napoli captain, brother of 2006 World Cup winner Fabio, is an uncapped 30-year-old.
