Milan centre-back Thiago Silva has denied Monday’s reports that indicated he is interested in a move to Barcelona.
The Brazilian was quoted in Catalan publication Mundo Deportivo speaking favourably of the Blaugrana and reportedly admitted to ‘knowing’ of their interest in him.
However, in a statement released through Milan’s official website, the defender has reasserted his loyalty to the Rossoneri.
“I don't have any intention of leaving Milan. I like the idea of becoming a symbol of this club, following the path of greats such as Franco Baresi and Paolo Maldini.
“[Adriano] Galliani needn't worry - Barcelona is just a rival for me.”
