Palermo captain Fabrizio Miccoli has admitted that he’s unlikely to take part in Euro 2012 for Italy. “I’m not needed.”
The former Juventus forward has been linked with a recall to the squad as national boss Cesare Prandelli struggles to find answers in attack.
However, after he was again omitted from the squad for this week’s 1-0 friendly loss to America, he doesn’t expect to be wearing the Italy shirt again while Prandelli is in charge.
“A squad has already been formed,” the 32-year-old told Sky Sport Italia ahead of Palermo’s match with Milan.
“The Coach has made his decisions and it is only right that his ideas are respected. I don’t think Prandelli needs me.”
Miccoli has won 10 caps for Italy, scoring two goals, in his short international career.
