Allegri: 'A crucial win'

Massimiliano Allegri believes Milan’s thrashing of Palermo was “a crucial victory. Now I have to focus on Arsenal.”

The Rossoneri dominated 4-0 at the Stadio Barbera with Zlatan Ibrahimovic bagging a hat-trick.

“We put in a great performance today and the lads did so well right from the start. Ibrahimovic scored three wonderful goals,” said the Coach.

“Winning in Palermo was important and I believe this can be a crucial victory. Robinho did very well, creating assists and working for the team.

“Luca Antonini had a slight thigh problem, while Urby Emanuelson sprained his ankle, but it shouldn’t be anything serious.

“When we win so comprehensively, we ought to be more careful and try to put the game to sleep, because with certain tricks it’s easier to get hurt.”

Allegri was asked about the past week of controversy around Juventus.

“I’ll make a joke out of it: as of tonight I give Juventus director Beppe Marotta permission to speak again. What will Juve do against Chievo tonight? I’m not interested, as I have to focus on Arsenal now.”

The second leg of the Champions League tie is at the Emirates on Tuesday.
