Angelo Palombo has admitted that he didn’t expect to be joining Inter during the January transfer window.
The midfielder moved to the club from Sampdoria – just six months after committing his future to Doria following their shock relegation.
“I would never have thought of joining Inter,” the 30-year-old told Inter Channel. “The call from President Massimo Moratti came in the last few hours of the transfer window.
“Playing for Inter provides me with a great opportunity and it is an important test for myself as a player,” he continued.
The Italian international, who has played three times so far for the Nerazzurri, was also asked about his plans once he retires from the game.
“I’d like to stay in the world of football,” he added. “I haven’t decided in what role yet though.
“At this moment in time I think I can exclude the possibility of becoming a Coach, it is a role with a lot of responsibility.”
