Milan have sent a clear warning to Gremio and other interested parties. “Whoever wants Ronaldinho has to pay €8m.”
The rapport between the Brazilian and Rossoneri seems to be at an end six months before his contract expires.
However, Gremio's hopes of taking the former Ballon d'Or winner on a free transfer have been shattered.
“Whoever wants Ronaldinho has to pay €8m,” declared Vice-President Adriano Galliani following a meeting with agent Roberto de Assis.
It means Milan will release him from his contract six months early, but have no intention of doing it for free.
This lets other Brazilian sides, such as Palmeiras and Flamengo, back into the running with the aid of sponsors.
Other options include David Beckham's LA Galaxy and even Liverpool.
