Pioli expects to upset Lazio

Stefano Pioli’s Bologna have upset numerous big clubs recently and he’s confident they can “continue this positive moment” against Lazio too.

The Rossoblu held Juventus to a draw in their rescheduled match on Wednesday, following on from a 3-0 win away to Inter and 1-1 result at the Stadio Olimpico against Roma.

“Lazio are a strong side. We will find difficulties, but so will Lazio,” warned the tactician.

“We want to continue this positive moment, so we must play with character, fighting for every ball and taking the initiative. We’ll try to hit their weak points, which of course every team has.

“In order to prove the steps forward we are making, we cannot show fear. We’ll go to play in a tough arena with humility, but also the awareness of what we can achieve. Don’t forget we are coming off an exhilarating week.”

Diego Perez is suspended, joining the injured Simone Loria and Henry Gimenez.
