Fabio Cannavaro reveals he could return to Turin a third time. “I still have a contract to be a Juventus director.”
The former Italy captain had two stints with the Bianconeri and has opted to end his career with Al-Ahli in Dubai.
“The quality of life is great here and I wanted to relax after all the stress of Serie A,” the 37-year-old told Sky Sport Italia.
“I have a contract for this season and the next, then we'll see what happens. After all, I also still have a contract to be a Juventus director. I don't know what role I could hold there, but we signed the deal last year and it's still valid. For the moment I'll enjoy where I am.”
Cannavaro fully confesses that Dubai was not his first choice, as he had angled for a return to hometown club Napoli alongside his brother Paolo.
“I respect the choices of President Aurelio De Laurentiis. It was my dream to return to Napoli. It wasn't possible to do so both last year and previously. In any case, I will always remain a Napoli fan and wish them all the best this season.
“Can they win the Scudetto? On paper it's difficult, but on the field they work harder, win and enjoy their football. We'll have to see if they can maintain this rhythm to the end.”
Canna is still smarting over the end of his international career with a 2010 World Cup first round exit.
“Some people enjoyed the South Africa disaster more than our victory in Germany. It was incredibly disappointing, even if we knew that we couldn't win the World Cup again, but going out immediately was horrible.”
