Reports in Russia claims Zenit St Petersburg are interested in signing Roma midfielder David Pizarro during the January transfer window.
The highly regarded Chilean playmaker has fallen down the pecking order at Roma and is said to be unhappy with his treatment.
Pizarro is still in Chile recovering from an injury even though the rest of Roma's players with the exception of Adriano have return to training.
"Let's not hide behind a finger," said one Roma director. "He is going through a moment of unease.
"Players are bitter when they don't play, but everyone is useful, no one is indispensable."
Meanwhile, Russian champions Zenit are said to be preparing a €4m bid for Pizarro who has also been linked with Genoa.
Zenit Coach Luciano Spalletti trained Pizarro at Roma and is known to have a very close bond with the player.
