Milan captain Massimo Ambrosini feels his side are "better equipped" than last season to win the Scudetto.
The Rossoneri have a three-point lead at the top of Serie A and face Cagliari in Sardinia on Thursday.
Interviewed in La Gazzetta dello Sport, Ambrosini said: "We had a great season last year, but now we are better equipped. In fact we are top of the table.
"If we are all healthy there is no need for reinforcements in midfield."
Asked about Leonardo's decision to accept the Inter job despite his past with Milan, Ambrosini replied: "It's very different for a footballer.
"I couldn't see myself in Inter's shirt, but for me it's another thing. Leonardo's decision must be respected. Then again, I have been here a little longer than Leo and I am the captain. They are not comparable situations.
"Even aside from Leonardo, Inter are a team who can come back. They have won so much that they will rediscover important motivations."
Ambrosini also gave his opinion on Milan's controversial new signing Antonio Cassano.
"There isn't any need to talk a lot about Cassano. He came into a group, which has welcomed his qualities very well both on and off the pitch. It's up to him to grasp the opportunity."
Finally, the 33-year-old midfielder gave an insight into his future at the club.
Ambrosini's contract expires at the end of the season and it remains to be seen whether he renews his current deal.
"I believe that the club has decided to deal with such burning matters all together so as not to create a ranking and they will speak to everyone at the right moment."
