Leo aims to start well

Leonardo would like to get off on the right foot in his first match in charge of Inter against Napoli on Thursday.

The Brazilian tactician replaced Rafa Benitez just before Christmas, accepting the job despite his past with Milan.

"I am not thinking about me. I have my emotions, but what counts is the team and they have given a signal in recent days," he said.

"The desire to start well quickly is enormous. This team mustn't sit back, but rather be conscious of its own strength and using it to the maximum because what Inter have done in recent years is incredible.

"I am not separating one Inter from another. The coaches change and their ideas too, but the heart of the team remains.

"Julio Cesar's injury was a surprise. He's had a difficult season. Now it's right that he returns only when he is ready."

Finally, Leonardo addressed his past with Milan, telling reporters that "it's a resolved situation.

"What I can do is thank Milan again and exchange their best wishes."
