Mazzarri: 'Napoli feel the pressure'

Walter Mazzarri believes Napoli “feel the pressure of the big match” at San Siro and accepts the defeat to Inter.

“We only played up to our standards in some moments,” he said of the 3-1 loss this evening.

“What emerged is something we had already spotted against Milan, that we feel the pressure of the big match a little too much.

“After going behind we started to play well then, during our best period of the game, a Douglas Maicon run created the second and straight after the break Inter scored a third. Incidents do make the difference, but it can happen to lose at San Siro.

“It's a shame, as we were coming off four consecutive victories between Serie A and the Europa League. On Sunday we'll try to make up for this against Juventus.”

Napoli have slipped down to third place after today's results and promise to be active in the transfer window.

“We are lacking a left-footed defender and hope to find the player who can improve the quality of our back line.”
