Marotta: 'More signings could arrive'

Juventus general manager Beppe Marotta admits that the club could make more signings in the January transfer window.

The Bianconeri made headlines last week by bringing in veteran striker Luca Toni from Genoa on a free transfer.

Injuries to a number of the club's players, notably Fabio Quagliarella, have made Juventus reassess their options.

Speaking after last night's 3-0 defeat to Napoli, Marotta said: "At a certain point, we thought about the Scudetto, but the objective is to get into the Champions League and it hasn't been said that we won't reinforce.

"We are in full flow and I am optimistic. The scenario has changed with respect to the period in which Juventus won with ease.

"The Agnelli family knows very well what Juve mean to the people. We can't put aside what happened [after Calciopoli].

"We are the team that has changed the most in the leading pack. Inter bore fruit only after many years in which they were building.

"You don't just win through money, but also with a winning model and [good] decisions.

"We are paying for big injuries," he concluded.
