'Sculli can give Lazio a hand'

Edy Reja has responded to speculation that Lazio are keen on signing Giuseppe Sculli by saying the Genoa striker could "give us a hand."

Lazio are planning to reinforce their forward line during the January transfer window and have been linked with the likes of Roque Santa Cruz.

If Sculli does join Lazio, it would cock-a-snook at rivals Roma who have long been linked with a move for the 29-year-old.

Asked about negotiations for Sculli, which could see Mark Bresciano move the other way, Reja said: "He is a great player and could give us a hand.

"However, we are also on the tracks of some other players and, anyway, I don't figure in negotiations like these. It's up to the club."

Reflecting on Sunday's 2-1 defeat to Lecce which came on the club's 111th birthday, he said: "We were the usual Lazio.

"We just weren't there from a mental point of view. But now we have to start again and fast, beginning on Sunday."
