Benitez: 'Why I picked starting XI'

Rafa Benitez explained his picks before the Champions League match with Tottenham. “Jonathan Biabiany has more pace than Coutinho.”

The Inter Coach spoke to Sky Italia television just before kick-off at White Hart Lane.

“Tottenham play very fast football. They have a lot of options and quality in the middle of the park thanks to players like Rafael van der Vaart and Luka Modric.”

The Nerazzurri are without Julio Cesar, Esteban Cambiasso and Dejan Stankovic, but Coutinho is benched in favour of Goran Pandev and Jonathan Biabiany.

“Pandev is a quality striker who can score goals,” continued Benitez.

“I preferred Biabiany to Coutinho, as he has more pace and can put the Spurs defence under pressure.”

Diego Milito is on the bench after recovering from his injury.
