Luca Toni could be out for several weeks, as Juventus confirmed he has sprained his right knee.
The striker only joined from Genoa last Friday and made his debut in the 3-0 defeat to Napoli.
He limped off just 15 minutes into tonight's 2-0 Coppa Italia victory over Catania at the Stadio Olimpico.
The official Juventus website has confirmed Toni “sprained the medial section of his right knee.
“Tomorrow he will undergo further tests.”
Even if it is just a sprain, Toni is effectively out of this weekend's Serie A match with Bari.
If the knee ligaments are affected by the injury, then he could be out for several weeks.
It is a further blow to the Bianconeri, who are without Fabio Quagliarella until the end of the season.
Amauri hopes to be back in time for Sunday's match after breaking his nose against Napoli.
