Alessandro Del Piero admits “it is not a fortunate time when it comes to injuries” as a decimated Juventus face Bari.
Luca Toni joined as a replacement for Fabio Quagliarella, but on his second appearance damaged knee ligaments and will be out for a month.
Amauri has not yet recovered from a fractured nose, while Vincenzo Iaquinta, Leandro Rinaudo, Paolo De Ceglie, Fabio Grosso, Claudio Marchisio and the suspended Felipe Melo are also unavailable.
“It is not a fortunate time when it comes to injuries,” the captain wrote on his official website.
“It went badly for Luca and I hope he can recover as quickly as possible to give us all a helping hand.”
Del Piero also picked up a knock during that Coppa Italia win over Catania, but tests showed nothing serious.
“We needed a night like that and so did I. I take it as a kick-start and thank those who applauded me when I left the field.
“I have to say that at that moment I felt a little worried at the pain in my knee, but the tests were reassuring and now I'm concentrated on Serie A and the next challenge with Bari.
“The result and performance in the Coppa Italia were important, but obviously they wouldn't mean much unless we repeated ourselves in the League to make up for a recent poor spell.”
