No Genoa return for Papa

The agent of Sokratis Papastathopoulos has ruled out a January return to Genoa. "Milan don't want to sell him."

The defender, born in June 1988, has been linked with a move back to Marassi just six months after leaving the port club.

However, the Greek's representative has insisted that although his client is a wanted man, he will remain at San Siro.

"A return to Genoa? I'm not aware of that," Antonios Apostolopoulos stated. "As far as I know there has been no contact with the Rossoblu.

"Milan have had requests from three clubs but they don't want to sell him," concluded Apostolopoulos.

Papastathopoulos, a central defender, was signed by the Rossoneri with the intention that boss Massimiliano Allegri would use him as a right-back.

However, the international struggled to convince in that role and has spent most of this season as a back-up to Alessandro Nesta and Thiago Silva in the centre.
