Sampdoria defender Daniele Gastaldello believes the Antonio Cassano debacle is one big mess.
Cassano has been frozen out of the team after Sampdoria President Riccardo Garrone asked that the player's contract be terminated following an argument.
The 28-year-old greatly offended Garrone last week when he not only refused to accompany him to an awards ceremony but also went off on a foul-mouthed tirade.
Interviewed after last night's Europa League match against Metalist, Gastaldello said: "It's not the time to talk about it.
"We must think about playing. Anyway, it's a situation that I'm sorry about.
"It has created a big mess. But we must stay out of it. We are paid to play. The club resolves the other questions," he concluded.
