Alessandro Del Piero confirms he wants to carry on playing for a few years, but not for Milan. “My only thought is Juventus.”
He scored the winner in a 2-1 victory at San Siro last week, prompting President Silvio Berlusconi to publicly state he'd be welcome to end his career with the Rossoneri.
“Berlusconi did compliment me and it was a kind gesture, but he did not actually ask me to join Milan,” insisted the 36-year-old in the Corriere dello Sport.
The speculation on his future is increasing, as the contract expires at the end of the season and a renewal is not necessarily guaranteed.
“I will carry on playing for a few years. My physique and my willpower tell me this is possible.
“However, my only thought is Juventus. The contract is set to expire, but I am not experiencing this deadline with a sense of anxiety.”
Alex is not the only veteran hitting headlines this week, as Milan's 37-year-old Pippo Inzaghi bagged a brace against Real Madrid.
“Inzaghi and I set a good example and are united by our passion for this sport. I am really happy about his Champions League double, which allowed him to make history with 70 goals in Europe.”
